What is “Success” in an Art Business?

Is success breaking even on your materials investment, or making enough to also pay yourself minimum wage, or enough to quit your day job, or enough to save a little and still retire without living paycheck to paycheck or are we talking world wide brand recognition?

Or is it something meaningful?

I’m not seeking to have (or maintain) a competitive advantage. A quick VRIO analysis applied to my current business plan will make that very clear.

I do know that I really want to build something that self sustains…

…that mutually benefits

…that’s not an operational nightmare to maintain

…that makes so much sense we wonder why someone didn’t do it yet.

But those ideas have to be really, really well thought out.

I’d like to bring together people who find purpose and meaning in REDUCING mental health stigma with those who are truly impacted BY stigma…through art…that comforts people in various ways.

I’ve always been told I aim too low and I do tend to stay where I am comfortable. I might eeeeeeven be afraid to be successful.

Back to editing an evolving business plan, as I weigh the possibilities and probabilities..

As Kobi Yamado says in “Maybe” we should embrace the ideas we have and the chances that come our way 😉

Thoughtfully,

Janessa
