Time to Compete

Last weekend I was approached at a market by a woman who encouraged, no insisted (more than once) that I compete for a specific funding opportunity.

Having her approach me, threw gas on a fire that had been previously pretty well lit 🔥(see post here).

Today, the words for the mission and vision are the clearest they have been in articulating how what we hope to do is unique and meaningful.

The MVP is in place (with better plans in the works, of course).

Now, I just need to knock on figurative and literal doors, where I feel confident opportunity awaits. Your door might be one of them if you’re following this journey.

It will be an incredible next two weeks or so, where I am officially consulting experts in areas I know I am lacking in and will hear the real (and likely hard) truth as to whether the ideas keeping me up at night are compelling enough and the operations and finances are sustainable.

One goal has always been to assure that the experience of being involved as a volunteer, partner, customer or recipient feels easy and joyful.

No matter what happens, I would rather have tried, and failed then to have never tried at all. Ruth Bader Ginsburg always whispers in the back of my mind that I should be fighting for the things I care about.

Stay tuned, as I hope to announce new partners and members of my advisory board.

It’s going to be an exciting spring!

Janessa
