Over 1,000 hourly visits, numerous sales, and several new blog and social media followers has my heart full thanks to Minnesota LIVE.
It’s pretty incredible to be given the opportunity to appear on a local news station to talk about what you do, why you think it matters, and how others can be involved or supportive.
What I didn’t anticipate was how authentically appreciative the Minnesota live anchors would be. They showed us genuine interest. It was because of that sincerity, that we felt so at ease talking to them about Tiny Art With Heart.

I am not sure what struck them. Was it the art itself?
Or, the concept of taking the time to create both art and a kind note for a young stranger in need?
Or, maybe we all are craving a connection to something good right now, given the tumultuous state of our country.
Either way, not only will I never forget the experience, but for Chaya at twelve? It solidified a core memory that will impact her decision-making, as she decides what and how to pursuit what matters to her in life.
Below is a (long) list of people I’d like to thank:
CC Rhode, producer at Minnesota Live, who appreciated our work enough to invite us to appear on Creative Corner and came out to film these awesome kids.
Alycia Knabenshue, art teacher and Crochet Club ambassador at West Middle School, who welcomed me and helped me not only engage the kids but to propel the company forward with her positivity.
Elaine and Evelyn, who started the club and not only have outstanding fiber skills, but who also have donated so much tiny art!
Nystrom & Associates and PrairieCare, for allowing us to show kindness to the youth they serve.
My husband and 5 year old, who tolerate how much I volunteer my time to boards and the LLC.
Chaya, who gives (and rips apart) my ideas and whose eyes watching me keep me driven and brave.
Many drips fill a bucket, and I’m finding my way.
Our next step is so find small retail partners to sell our things. Fingers crossed retailers will see the value Minnesota Live, and many others, saw in our work.
If you know a small retailer, please pass our crochet and pencil art on to them or pass their name to me!
Kindly,
Janessa
