To make Brainy you need only a few materials! You can find them online or at a local craft store. Brainy is a favorite, as he is a brain, a finger puppet, AND made of such soft yarn! Note, Brainy is marked as an Intermediate Level Snuggler due to the complexity of working with baby blanket yarn (it’s not very friendly).
Materials
- Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn (Pink)
- 6mm Safety Eyes (Black) – optional as we have many in stock and can add them for you!
- Size 3 Crochet Hook (or close to it)

Pattern
Row 1: Magic Ring (keep it small as tightening with this yarn can be tricky later!)
Row 2: 6 single crochets (SC) into the ring (6)
Row 3: 2 SC into each loop around (12)
Row 4: 2 SC into each loop around (24)
Row 5: Decrease around (12)
Row 6: Cut yarn with a long tail for sewing
Row 7: Fold brain in half, line up stitches
Row 8: single crochets together, leaving an opening
Row 9: Sew a knot
Weave extra into the rest of the brain and snip.
